About Browser Metronome

On this page

A straightforward browser metronome

Browser Metronome gives musicians a clear visual pulse, tap tempo and rhythm controls that follow the selected meter. Speed, Gap and Session tools support focused practice.

The service is free, ad-free and independent. It has no account or tracking, and installation is never required. After a successful visit, supported browsers can also keep its essential files available offline.

Speed, Gap and Session practice

Practice includes a Speed Trainer that changes BPM after complete bar blocks, a Gap Trainer that alternates audible and silent bars, and bar-based or timed Sessions with an optional count-in. Changes and results stay in the open page and disappear on reload or close. Share practice creates a link with supported setup values; it does not include progress or results.

Practise with the tab you need

Start the metronome in one browser tab, then use another tab for staff, chord charts, tabs or lesson material. On supported browser and device combinations, the tick may continue while that tab is active, making it easier to practise with one screen. Browser and operating-system policies can still interrupt audio, especially after an app switch or screen lock.

Optional Home Screen and offline use

You may add the site to a device Home Screen for quicker access. After a successful visit, supported browsers can cache the files needed for offline use; the browser may later remove them. Installation is optional: the normal website remains the complete service. See the offline guide for a preparation check.
