Keep counting between clicks
On this page
Hear the off-beat clicks while you continue to count the main beats in their original places.
What to listen for
Hear a regular clap-click alternation. A click is still an off-beat even when it is the first sound you hear.

- Before Start, check 4/4, 120 quarter-note BPM and Between beats. Lower BPM manually if needed.
- Count one-and, two-and, three-and, four-and. The clicks sound on the and positions.
- Clap each number for eight bars while the click answers between claps. Do not turn a click into one.
What to check
Maintain the count through eight bars without shifting the numbers onto the clicks.
When to simplify
Stop, choose audible eighths and rebuild the count. Return to Between beats once the numbers feel placed.
